Agricola Eatery is a well-established full-service American restaurant in the heart of Princeton, notable for its commitment to organic and locally sourced ingredients. Its location on Witherspoon Street places it conveniently near Princeton University, making it a popular spot for both students and local residents looking for a thoughtful meal in a lively, yet comfortable setting.

The atmosphere at Agricola strikes a balance between approachable and upscale without feeling overdone. The dining room tends to fill up, especially on weekend evenings, reflecting its steady appeal among groups gathering for casual dinners or celebratory get-togethers. The space manages to feel warm and inviting, with attentive yet unobtrusive service enhancing the overall experience.

The menu offers a variety of dishes that highlight local produce and creative combinations, making it particularly interesting for diners who appreciate elevated takes on classic American fare with organic and seasonal twists. Popular items include flatbreads like the Local Mushroom and Duck Confit varieties, which combine unexpected flavors like balsamic figs and truffle honey, delivering a satisfying balance of savory and light. For seafood lovers, dishes such as Cape May scallops and jerk shrimp tacos stand out for their freshness and well-executed seasoning.

Brunch and weekend mornings bring options like carrot cake pancakes and eggs Benedict, which maintain the same attention to ingredient quality. Vegetarians or those seeking plant-forward options can explore choices like mushroom and potato ravioli or the hummus plate, both of which receive consistent praise for flavor and thoughtful preparation.

The sides and sharable plates, such as bang bang cauliflower and Brussels sprouts with housemade bacon and chili honey, are ideal for groups and contribute to a lively table experience. Farm-to-table integrity extends to the bar menu as well, where craft cocktails and an IPA complement the food without overwhelming it.

Street parking nearby makes the restaurant accessible for those driving in, while the proximity to campus also invites foot traffic from locals looking for a reliable spot to catch up over drinks or a satisfying meal. Expect the place to be busier on Friday and Saturday nights, so planning ahead or arriving slightly earlier in the evening is advisable for a more relaxed pace.

Overall, Agricola Eatery suits those seeking a culinary experience that balances organic, local ingredients with a diverse and creative menu, wrapped in a convivial atmosphere that comfortably accommodates everything from casual group dinners to weekend brunches.

As always, the atmosphere in Agricola was inviting and enjoyable. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients, but the fig flatbread was a surprise. Tasty, savory, but light. Looking forward to the next get together in Princeton.

Went here with a lot of guys and the service combined with the food was great. Their appetizers were on point - I loved their jerk shrimp tacos and calamari. I ordered the strip steak and the truffle fries and it was delicious. Even with a large group, the servers were attentive and the food was brought out in a reasonable amount of time despite the packed Friday night. Would come back for a special occasion to try some of their other items.

Great location near Princeton University. Street parking. Wonderful ambience. Fantastic service, very welcoming & attentive. Best of all was the food… delicious. The flatbreads, fig & margharita were both yummy as was the hummus platter. Chicken parm was delicious as well but could have done with some more sauce as it felt a tad dry. Bang bang cauliflower would be my most recommended dish. It was amazing.

I went here on a Sunday night thinking it would be less crowded but I was wrong! It was super packed but I see why this place was really nice and had a lot of great options! The drinks were really good and reasonably priced. We tried the tuna tartare which was incredible! For our entree we got a spaghetti squash with chicken meatballs. The dish was overall pretty tasty and filling despite the amount of food on the dish. I personally would have liked the chicken to be more seasoned but thankfully they have salt and pepper on the table to bring out some more flavor. I do feel that the hostess/servers were struggling a bit with the amount of people though. We did get the wrong menu (brunch instead of dinner) and then also had to wait like 15 minutes for a table even with the reservation. Everyone was super nice and professional about it though. Overall I really enjoyed going eating at Agricola. I def would go back again just for the atmosphere and drinks!

Gracious. Impeccably prepared and presented meal. Exceptional wait staff., with an excellent balance of attentiveness without being intrusive. One is made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Ambiance is attractive without feeling ostentatious, even though this is clearly a very upscale establishment. This was my first time visiting here, but my daughter likes to frequent the place whenever she's visiting NJ. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We arrived relatively late, and opted for less elaborate menu items. There were many intriguing items on the menu. Be aware that the prices are on the high side (look at their online menu so that you don't feel blind-sided by the costs). That being said, the quality of the food (and service and ambiance) we experienced was exceptional, and we did feel the cost was well-deserved. Also, there were a number of inviting non-meat options for those so-inclined - I would actually like to come back and see what their "Grain Bowl" is like as an entree, as it sounds intriguing and inviting as a main meal alternative to some delicious-sounding meat/seafood choices. For a special meal out with our visiting daughter, it was nicely memorable. But not something I would be inclined to indulge in regularly, as for me a near-perfect meal is a pizza and refills of Coke at Conti's (also in Princeton). :) So, definitely worth checking out, especially if you wish to have a special get-together.

Had a great time at Agricola! We got the bang bang cauliflower - had a tangy spicy sauce with sliced pickled jalapeno - really liked that spin on it, margherita flatbread - was super fresh & light, and baked potatoes on the side. They were all delicious. The service was great as well. There was a waiting line so I suggest making a reservation.

Three of us had dinner here, reserved the night before, and had a lovely table. We had never been to the place before and I am beyond impressed. Food was 10/10, drinks were great, atmosphere was lovely, and our waitress Stephanie was so great at her job, so attentive, and so friendly! She deserves a raise! Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and make sure to try the pumpkin butter cake as dessert.
